Reporting to the Deputy Director, the Risk Manager position is responsible for the risk management operations of the Organisation, to include the integration of risk concepts into strategic planning, risk identification and mitigation activities
Overseeing the development of the Organisation's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) policy and its approval by the Board through the Audit and Risk Committee.
To oversee the Organisation's Enterprise Risk Management system and activities
To carry out risk awareness workshops throughout the Organisation’s Divisions and Departments including Regional offices .
Assisting all the Departments identify, assess and evaluate risks affecting their respective areas.
Ensure that Divisional Risk registers are developed and updated regularly in compliance with the ERM policy.
On a Quarterly basis consolidating the Divisional Risk Registers into a Corporate Risk Register for presentation to the Audit and Risk Committee.
Assist the Organisation and all departments in developing plans to mitigate risks.
Monitor the implementation and progress of risk mitigation strategies and controls.
Create and disseminate risk measurements and reports.
Communicate to key stakeholders the risk profile of the business.
Ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Ensure the development and acceptance of challenging but realistic objectives, plan and budgets bysubordinates and help them achieve desired results.
Bachelor's degree in Risk Management or IRM.
Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) is an added advantage.
Qualifications in Audit, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance or equivalent.
At least 5 years of experience working in the related field of risk management.
Must demonstrate strong knowledge of risks identification, assessment and management frameworks.
Strong knowledge of control frameworks and the ability to design and evaluate effectiveness of controls embedded within business processes.
